bronze, glass, walnut
58 x 23 x 24 inches

Cast bronze, cast glass, and walnut burl, set on lathe-turned walnut legs. The burl was salvaged from a Central California factory that produces gun stocks. Once abundant, walnut groves are now disappearing, often cut down due to water shortages. This sculpture is both shimmering and anthropomorphic—slightly comical, yet carrying a dark presence—an emergent creature shaped by our times.
